This is a two-page strip we did for fun. I was listening to Tom Waits' album Swordfishtrombones which includes the spoken-word number Frank's Wild Years. As I listened, I thought "Hey, this would make a great comic strip". So Antonella wrote it and I drew it...

I should point out that this was done strictly for our own amusement and we haven't made a dime from it. We wrote to Jalma Music for permission to use Tom's lyrics but never got a reply. Don't rat us out.

This character is called Dunstable D. Dragon. Originally devised by writer John Freeman, we're currently developing the character into a full-blown children's book.

Now for page 12 of Bret Harte's Selina Sedilia, turned into a comic strip by us...

This page took ages to do (by hand, I wasn't so advanced along my Photoshop learning curve when I drew this), and I don't think it works all that well. The idea was to make it look like a sequence from an old silent movie, but the fact that I had to run the frames in three vertical columns instead of horizontally like the rest of the strip, and the train leaps across the gap in the bottom centre frame while the connected caption ~ "LEAP..!!" ~ appears in the top right frame makes for confusion. A worthy failure I think.
